Bev Henry Emergency Fund

SIEOC’s Bev Henry Emergency Fund was established years ago as the Emergency Assistance Program to help individuals and families facing difficult times. The fund was later renamed in honor of Bev Henry, SIEOC’s former Executive Director, whose passion for her work and dedication to the community left a lasting legacy.

Today, the Bev Henry Emergency Fund provides assistance to eligible families experiencing a crisis in Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, and Union Counties. Assistance may include help with essential needs such as rent, utilities, food, and prescriptions.

The Bev Henry Emergency Fund relies entirely on the generosity of community members, businesses, organizations, and other donors. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide hope and support to families when they need it most.

Based on need — not income. Any family in our service area can apply regardless of where they fall on the income scale. If you have a real emergency and can show you need help, we'll try to provide it.

We continually see the need arise in our communities for basic things during an emergency situation — one-time assistance for:

  • Shelter & housing costs — rent deposit, first month's rent (limited amounts)
  • Utility bills — temporary reconnection after disconnection
  • Food and clothing
  • Medical / health needs
  • School supplies
  • Transportation repairs (title loans up to $600 available for qualified families)
  • Miscellaneous emergency expenses
100% goes to families. We are totally dependent on donations to provide this program and every single dollar donated goes directly to assisting families — there are no overhead fees.

Resource Sheet Questionnaires

Resource Sheet Questionnaires are completed by SIEOC staff in collaboration with clients to identify areas where financial assistance or supportive services may be needed. The purpose of the questionnaire is to connect clients with available SIEOC resources, as well as appropriate resources and services within the community.

SIEOC staff actively collaborate and coordinate with community partners to help address the emergency needs of individuals and families. These partnerships allow SIEOC and its community partners to coordinate and maximize available resources, strengthening our ability to provide comprehensive support and address a broader range of client needs.

Resource Sheet Questionnaires may be completed to assist with rent, mortgage payments, utilities, prescription costs, and other essential needs.
