About the Program
The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) is part of the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), designed to assist income-eligible households with winter heating and summer cooling costs. SIEOC is designated by federal regulation, under contract with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), as the local Community Action Agency administering EAP in Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, and Union counties.
SIEOC will treat all households equitably when determining eligibility. We serve income-eligible households subject to an energy burden and respond promptly to eligible households experiencing a heating emergency. EAP can provide benefits that offset the high costs of energy, but does not traditionally have the funds available to pay all of a household's energy costs. The best way to know if you qualify is to apply.
How Do I Apply?
You can download the application forms on this page and submit them by mail, fax to 812-926-4475, or email at eap@sieoc.org.
You can also call and schedule an appointment at your local EAP office (see office locations below). Households that are in a disconnect status, or whose utility has already been shut off, must come in during our crisis walk-in hours.
